Discover how faith, healing, and purpose shape the journey of becoming your true self with Karria Lawrence on The Daring Well Podcast.
In this powerful and soul-nourishing episode, I got the opportunity to sit down with faith-driven entrepreneur Karria Lawrence for a deep and transformative chat on how to live a purpose driven life and what it means to become the woman you're called to be. Karria shares her personal healing journey from trauma and hardship to leadership lessons that she's learned along the way. In this episode, she breaks down her empowering framework: The Blueprint for Becoming Her.
Karria Lawrence wears many hats: she is the founder of Archetype & Co., a strategic operations firm, and Pretty Girls Pray, a nonprofit for middle school girls who have experienced trauma. She is also a mother, a faith leader, and a resilient woman who has navigated deep valleys in her personal and professional life. From seasons of homelessness to building successful ventures, Karria has emerged with not just wisdom but a calling to guide others.
"It’s just alignment. It’s who I am. I’ve always known what I was called to do."
Her life and career reflect her deep belief in the power of purpose, leadership, and faith.
Karria describes becoming "her" as a journey, not a destination. This blueprint involves acknowledging every part of your story—even the broken and ugly pieces—and choosing healing over shame.
"Becoming her is a process. It’s owning the good, the bad, and the ugly—and still choosing to move forward."
Karria shares openly about her hardships, including times when she and her son were homeless and living in their car. She didn’t dream of becoming an entrepreneur, but her journey kept nudging her toward service, structure, and support for others.
"Business is spiritual. God has to be the Provider. He’s the only one who can turn zero into 20K in 24 hours."
Through it all, she learned:
Too often, women carry stories laced with shame. Karria encourages women to embrace their full selves and allow those stories to become sources of power and connection.
"Shame will keep you in a place where it doesn't allow you to connect with people. But the ugly parts of your story can help you connect."
While your past doesn’t define you, it can refine you. Healing requires:
Karria speaks frankly about the emotional difficulty of releasing friendships, partnerships, or clients that no longer align with your values.
"Some people are in your life for a season. Holding on too long can block the newness God wants to bring."
In both life and business, she highlights the importance of:
Karria emphasizes that emotional wellness is not just about mindset—it's about soul care. This means taking care of the whole self: spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
"In my world, a massage can cure anything."
She also draws from healing books such as The Body Keeps the Score and works by Dr. Joe Dispenza that emphasize the neurological and physical imprint of trauma.
"Trauma doesn’t have to mean severe abuse. Sometimes trauma is being overly responsible, always being needed."
Prayer, according to Karria, is more than asking—it's positioning. It creates alignment between your heart and God’s purpose for your life.
"Prayer isn’t just about words. It’s positioning. And worship opens the door for healing that no one else can give you."
Whether praying through journaling, walking, or silent reflection, it’s about creating a sacred space for:
Karria makes the bold assertion that anxiety and depression are often soul issues. Healing must occur at the soul level—the unseen parts of ourselves that get wounded over time.
"The enemy can’t get in unless we invite him. And sometimes we invite him through the music we listen to, the people we hang with, or even our thoughts."
She emphasizes the need for:
"You can repeat God's promises all day, but if you're out of alignment, it doesn't work."
As a woman who once struggled with people-pleasing and lack of boundaries, Karria reminds listeners:
"You don’t have to help everybody. That’s not your assignment."
Today, she chooses to give from overflow rather than depletion.
"I had to tell someone, 'I don’t have anything to give right now.' It wasn’t hard to say because the relationship was safe."
One of the most profound parts of the conversation centered around the desire to live an unoffendable life.
"I pray that God helps me live a life where I’m unoffendable. I don’t want to carry weight that isn’t mine."
Healing doesn’t require perfection. It requires honesty and movement.
"You can pass a test today and fail it tomorrow. The point is to keep growing."
In her final message to listeners, Karria shares a gentle but firm reminder:
"Be patient with yourself. Don’t try to check all the boxes. But don’t take your foot off the gas."
This is the tension of growth: grace and discipline, compassion and consistency.
