Emotional Energy with EFT Tapping: My Daring Well Story with Ann Hince

I had the pleasure of sitting down and chatting with Ann Hince on The Daring Well Podcast, a spiritual and transformation coach who has dedicated her life to healing from childhood trauma and helping others do the same. Ann’s My Daring Well Story, is a story is that reminds us the power of resilience, self-discovery, and transformation. With vulnerability, she shares her journey of overcoming deep-seated trauma, how she developed a powerful method for releasing emotional burdens, and how techniques like Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) have helped her and countless others find healing and peace.


Ann’s Journey: Overcoming Childhood Trauma

Ann’s story is one of courage and great resilience. From an early age, she experienced significant trauma that shaped her emotional and physical well-being. She shared:

  • Adoption and Early Childhood Struggles: Ann was handed over for adoption at just six weeks old to a family who had recently suffered a loss, unknowingly setting the stage for deep-seated emotional pain.
  • Experiencing Trauma: At four years old, she witnessed a house fire, an event that left lasting emotional scars.
  • Boarding School Isolation: Being sent to a boys’ boarding school as the only female student led to years of emotional distress.
  • Grief & Trauma of Losing Her Mother: At 19, Ann found her mother dead on the bathroom floor, a traumatic experience that would take decades to process.

Reflecting on these experiences, Ann shared, "I didn’t realize until my late thirties that I was still carrying all that trauma around." This realization marked the beginning of her healing journey.


Discovering Emotional Freedom Through EFT

The pivotal moment for Ann came when a business altercation at her kids school triggered unresolved traumatic childhood emotions. She described how this realization led her to a holistic medical doctor who introduced her to EFT, also known as tapping.



What is EFT?

EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique is a technique that involves tapping on specific acupressure points in the body while verbalizing emotions and thoughts. EFT helps release negative emotions stored in the body’s nervous system.

Ann explained, "He tapped with me as I talked through finding my mother that day. For the first time ever, I could tell the story without tears."


How EFT Works

EFT follows a simple yet powerful process:

  1. Identify the Emotion – Recognize the specific emotion (e.g., anxiety, fear, anger) that you’re feeling.
  2. Tap on Acupressure Points – These include points on the forehead, collarbone, and hands.
  3. Acknowledge and Release – Verbally acknowledge the emotion and repeat affirmations like, "Even though I feel anxious, I accept myself."
  4. Repeat Until Emotional Relief is Felt – The tapping process is repeated until the emotional intensity subsides.

Ann found EFT so effective that she used it daily, working through each of her past traumas one by one. She shared, "My mind became quieter, and I noticed I wasn’t reacting the same way to triggers anymore."


The Body Holds Trauma: Releasing Physical Tension

A profound part of Ann’s journey was realizing how trauma is physically stored in the body. She discovered that not only does emotional trauma impact mental health, but it also manifests physically.

  • Body Awareness: She learned to put her awareness inside her body to identify and release tension.
  • Physical Changes: Ann’s healing work even led to measurable physical transformations. "I grew three-quarters of an inch in my fifties because I released the physical burden of my past."
  • Law of Attraction & Healing: Ann believes that releasing trauma changes our personal “signal” and can shift what we attract into our lives. "To manifest a different future, we must clear the resistance stored in our bodies."


The Power of Self-Awareness and Healing

Ann’s work emphasizes the importance of deep self-awareness and accepting emotions as they arise. She encourages:

  • Recognizing emotions instead of suppressing them
  • Working through difficult memories layer by layer
  • Using EFT and mindfulness to release stored trauma

She reminds us, "We don’t have to live with the emotional burdens of our past. Healing is possible, and there is more depth to life than we often realize."


Simple EFT Exercise for Anxiety

If you’re new to EFT, here’s a simple exercise Ann recommends for relieving anxiety:

  1. Acknowledge the Anxiety: Say, "Even though I feel anxious right now, I accept myself."
  2. Start Tapping:
    • Top of the head: "I feel anxious."
    • Eyebrow: "This anxiety is overwhelming."
    • Side of the eye: "I acknowledge this feeling."
    • Under the eye: "I choose to release it."
    • Under the nose: "I let go of this tension."
    • Collarbone: "I allow myself to feel calm."
    • Under the arm: "I embrace peace."
  3. Repeat until you feel a shift.

Ann’s journey serves as a testament to the power of emotional healing. Her message is clear: we don’t have to be defined by our past traumas. Through techniques like EFT, mindfulness, and self-awareness, we can find emotional freedom and transform our lives.

As Ann wisely stated, "When we know ourselves deeply on the inside, we understand the world around us more clearly. And that changes everything."
