I had the pleasure of sitting down and chatting with Ann Hince on The Daring Well Podcast, a spiritual and transformation coach who has dedicated her life to healing from childhood trauma and helping others do the same. With vulnerability, she shares her journey of overcoming deep-seated trauma, how she developed a powerful method for releasing emotional burdens, and how techniques like Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) have helped her and countless others find healing and peace.
Ann’s story is one of courage and great resilience. From an early age, she experienced significant trauma that shaped her emotional and physical well-being. She shared:
Reflecting on these experiences, Ann shared, "I didn’t realize until my late thirties that I was still carrying all that trauma around." This realization marked the beginning of her healing journey.
The pivotal moment for Ann came when a business altercation at her kids school triggered unresolved traumatic childhood emotions. She described how this realization led her to a holistic medical doctor who introduced her to EFT, also known as tapping.
EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique is a technique that involves tapping on specific acupressure points in the body while verbalizing emotions and thoughts. EFT helps release negative emotions stored in the body’s nervous system.
Ann explained, "He tapped with me as I talked through finding my mother that day. For the first time ever, I could tell the story without tears."
EFT follows a simple yet powerful process:
Ann found EFT so effective that she used it daily, working through each of her past traumas one by one. She shared, "My mind became quieter, and I noticed I wasn’t reacting the same way to triggers anymore."
A profound part of Ann’s journey was realizing how trauma is physically stored in the body. She discovered that not only does emotional trauma impact mental health, but it also manifests physically.
